Text Box: Matt McCabe’s Official Wequaquet Lake Report:

Tony Yulenski and I hit Lake Wequaquet on Sunday, March 30. Thought some of you might want to hear a little about our June 1st destination.

Cold day, high of 42, sunny and very windy! The lake is big and absolutuley gorgeous. We should not be running over each other out there. Not a whole lot of weed in the lake, mostly sand and gravel bottom. Lots of rocky drop-offs and many, many coves.

The best thing is there are smallies there! We got 3 smallies, all 2 1/2 to 3 pounds, and a 4 lb largemouth. And this was on a windy day, no trolling motor and 41 degree water. I don't know how tough limits will be but I guarantee the average fish will be big! Watch out super-lunker.

There is a lot of parking along the road. We are in the process of finding additional alternate parking. The ramp is ok but it is on a busy road. Be careful putting in and pulling out. We will have spotters the day of tourney. All info will be provdided soon.

The ride, parking and pulling out will require some patience. We have never gone to the cape as a club, but will give it a try this year. Judging from word of mouth and our visit there it will definitely be worth the trip. I cant' wait!!!!

See you on the water,
Matt McCabe
